An interesting interview by our CEO Fabio Martignoni appeared in the latest issue of “TUTTO MISURE” that significantly summarizes how COGO BILANCE is facing the particular moment with determination and also with satisfaction.
We offer below an excerpt of the most significant points and which you can find in full in Italy’s most important industry magazine.
FABIO MARTIGNONI: “II segment of weighing instruments, in addition to representing an important slice of Test & Measurement, concerns one of the areas that most in recent years, and particularly in this period characterized by the pandemic, have evolved in a very profound way. From the supply of scales, equipment and services, there has been a rapid shift to offering integrated solutions, capable of responding to specific needs and from customers who require an increasing number of checks to be carried out in the shortest possible time…”
“…With this in mind, demand has progressively broadened, aiming to transform(the “stamp…) into opportunity: calibration instruments and measurement uncertainty have thus become concrete and important business “tools,” far beyond their merely metrological significance. Further accelerating the evolution of the most innovation-sensitive suppliers into true partners of client companies, able to guarantee the competitiveness of the solutions and services offered…”
“…The rapid and continuous evolution of the markets, which has led to an exponential increase in competition, has forced us to take the road of continuous innovation, the only one capable of allowing us to maintain a high competitive level, even in the face of competitors located in geographic areas characterized do low labor costs. The scale, therefore, has gradually evolved into a weighing “system” capable of acquiring and making available qualitatively and quantitatively increasingly advanced data, according to specific needs…
“As a result, our corporate structure has also evolved: from suppliers of equipment to problem solvers, capable of providing customers with a high level of know-how and a range of excellent collateral services.”
“…Last spring we worked sol for open supply chains, with a drop in turnover of around 30 percent, which, thanks to the good initial performance of the year, became a -8 percent relative to this first half of the year and should return to substantial parity in the third quarter, as we are now working at full capacity…”
“A situation, ours, that despite presenting apparently not striking numbers is actually far better than that characterizing many Italian companies of various sizes and commodity sectors, and for us it means a concrete confirmation of the goodness of the strategic choices made over the years.”
“We are pleased to note that the pandemic has not stifled the growth of corporate interest in Measures; on the contrary, I can safely say that the approach to this area has never stopped, as evidenced, for example, by the various inquiries we have received in recent months regarding particularly topical solutions, such as Smartscale, our flagship product…”
“…it is not enough to take it for granted that certification of a weight or suitability of an instrument is mandatory, but it is always worthwhile to understand how such costs can be, not only optimized, but also turned into opportunities for the individual company by giving more and more value to its metrology system…
“Certainly the restart will be difficult and very challenging, but we need to be fully aware that, especially this time, those who can regroup better and faster will win even more decisively.
An old adage goes:Courage without prudence becomes recklessness; prudence without courage becomes cowardice…”.”
